As a small child, B'Elanna Torres lived with her parents on Fondor. Her Human father abandoned them when she was five. Her Klingon mother then relocated them to the Klingon homeworld, Qo'noS. But her Human side caused conflicts so she escaped into the galaxy. B'Elanna was strong-willed and independent. She had a volatile temper, but can also be very passionate and caring. B'Elanna appreciated Tyr as a friend, but kept fending off his romantic advances, often reminding him that he would not be able to handle her Klingon half. She ran an outlaw tech/starship repair facility on Phantom Station. She was an expert mechanic and engineer.
