Tallax was originally settled under an agreement with both the Mimnitar and Gallentean governments to be used as a commercial hub for the Belhov Sector. Tallax would act as a refinement and production center for resources harvested in the area. As the last stop before Mimnitar and Gallentean space, Tallax also would act as a customs hub for space traffic coming deeper into the sector from Farport and Atreva.
Unfortunately, both governments wanted full control over the planet. At the height of the Clone Wars, with the Republic’s eyes turned elsewhere, both the Mimnitar and the Gallenteans waged a full-scale war, with Tallax eventually becoming the center of the conflict. Both forces attempted to occupy the world and were both viciously attacked by the other, resulting in a ruined landscape of what could have been a crowning jewel of civilization within the Belhov Sector.
Now, Tallax is a planet full of ruins and survivors. There are many secret oddities that have begun to turn up on Tallax as well. Utilizing the failed Gravitronic technology of the Gallenteans, a faction on Tallax has managed to create 12 facilities on the world that hold damaged tectonic plates in their original positions to keep the world from destabalizing and shattering. These facilities, known as Beam Gates, send gravitronic beams across to a central focal point, which has been dubbed “The Tower”.
Secretly, the last remaining group of Nexti in the galaxy have taken an interest in the world. Awaken from their hibernation sleeps in the Unknown regions, these Nexti watch Tallax and the beams to ensure that the planet and the phenomenon taking place there do not fall into the wrong hands.
The Gravitronics have produced an effect similar to that of the Nexus Gates, created by the Nexti, which has drawn their attention.
