The Mangalores are a tribal species native to the world Mandore. Noted for their aggressive, warlike manner, the Mangalores are seen as nothing more than bullies, pirates, and mercenaries.
Most individuals who encounter the Mangalores describe them as brutish, dim-witted thugs whose only purpose in the galaxy is to be a pain in the neck. The Mangalores do possess a militaristic drive, however. They can act as an effective unit in larger groups, most often led by one of their more intelligent members (i.e. An "Alpha".). But once their leadership is gone, they deteriorate into a unorganized, almost cowardly rabble.
Having always been a warlike species, the Mangalores take great pride in the confusion their name causes. Many people automatically confuse the Mangalores with the Mandalorians, even though they are nothing alike. The Mangalores are brutal and tactless when it comes to waging battle. They seem to lack a moral code also, willing to do almost anything for credits or the spoils of war. lacking that moral code makes them into huge cowards too, especially when faced with overwhelming odds.
Around 1.5 ABY, the Mangalores, almost as a whole, entered into a contract with Zorg Enterprises to work as weapon testers and guards for Zorg interests. Zorg also used the Mangalores as his own personal troops on different occasions.
