Lysai was a colony territory of the Antrixian Commonwealth used for mining and production. Overseen by a division of three of the lesser houses of the Landsraad, Lysai was also an important world on the hyperspace route known as the Maridis Run.
History[]
Upon the initial discovery of the frozen planet in 20,497 BBY, Lysai was deemed too barren and cold to be of much use to any of the controlling Houses within the Antrixian Commonwealth. the lesser Houses of House Arryn, Carridin, and Lawstar jointly petitioned to be granted survey rights of the world. The discovery of deep veins of ore hidden under the ice, along with pockets of various gases under the surface of the frozen oceans prompted the three Houses to set up mining operations. The discovery of the rare carbon metal, Heart-steel, caught the attention of the Jinsai, who also began to take more interest in the world. It was also within the veins of Heart-steel that miners uncovered naturally occurring Kyber crystals. The Jinsai explored Lysai more in depth and discovered volcanic caves near fault-line mountain regions where the Kyber crystals had surfaced naturally within the caves.
The Kyber crystals of Lysai are said to be where the Jinsai derived their original name, meaning "Silver Blade" in the Antrixian Old Tongue language. Jinsai Lightsabers made with Lysai Kyber traditionally had a silver or silvery blue energy blade.
