Furyans are a distinct classification of the Near-Humans that have evolved from Corellian and Humbarine stock to Furya located in the Fridigo system, a world now believed to be dead and/or cursed.
Furyans themselves are impressive physical specimens; they are stronger, faster, more resistant to enviromental conditions, have immense stamina, and recover quicker than most of the other humanoid species.

Most of the Furyans evolution can be contributed to science, rather than nature. Due to a somewhat hostile environment on Furya, scientists went about altering genetic codes of slave laborers being sent to Furya as miners. Over the centuries, these alterations turned into natural traits past down from generation to generation. When the slave population won their freedom from their masters, the Furyans opted to remain on Furya and build their own society.
Had it not been for intervention of the Republic, the Furyans may have evolved into a culture similar to the Mandalorians. After several centuries of independence, the Furyans became very militaristic as a society.
