Knydia is homeworld to the Knydens and is also a member world of the Antrixian Commonwealth/Landsraad.
History[]
The natives of Knydia, the Knydens, were close to being able to discover the Antrixians instead of the other way around, when the first colony ship from the then Antrixian-held area of space landed. The colonists attempting to colonize Knydia found a sprawling civilization on the world, along with a new species. After communications were established and hostilities calmed down, the native Knydens began to allow the colonists and others to their world. Friendships were formed and within a few short years, the Knydens were allied with the Commonwealth, eventually bcoming a member of it as well.
Knydia is one of the most diverse planets within the Commonwealth, possessing almost every type of terrain and geology that a planet can. The highest mountains and the deepest canyons within the Commonwealth are found on Knydia. For the most part, Knydia is temperate throughout its main population areas. A spectacular sight on Knydia is the Auroras, causes by sunlight reflecting off the polar icecaps. The poles are frigid and covered in snow and ice, year round. Knydia is still very geologically active, with geo-thermo areas spread across the world. These spots are popular with tourists. The geological activity has also made for some impressive rock formations on the planet, always popular with visitors.
Knydia is just as diverse in their economy also, dabbling in everything from mining and manufacturing to agriculture and starship production. While the economy isn’t as specifically focused as other worlds, the diversity has allowed Knydia to continue to grow, not as a world, but as an influence within the sector also. Knydia produces a majority of the parts for the weapons and internal systems for Arentech Valaris Shipyards. Knydia also produces about half of the ore that Jinsai Bladesmiths use in crafting the Jinsai weapons.
House Ossian oversees the planet in conjuncture with Knydens that have been adopted into the House. Knydia and its residents display the attitude and principles of the Jinsai more than any other within the Commonwealth, except for the Lutrin. Because of this, Knydens were the first non-Antrixians allowed to train as Jinsai.
