The Bahrassa are a species of humanoids native to the world Baranza, located on the edge of Wild Space in the Outer Rim. While not widely dispersed throughout the galaxy, Bahrassa can be found here and there, generally involved in fringe activities, if not total underworld activities and schemes.
Appearance and Biology
The Bahrassa have a very standard humanoid appearance except for pale, milky white skin and a bony crest growth on the forehead and top of their heads. Their eyes are pure black with no discernable pupils or irises. As their culture dictates, almost all Bahrassa adorn themselves with tattoos and markings all over their bodies. Females also have a perchance for wearing a large amount of make-up.
Biologically, the Bahrassa are most closely related to the Tarlacs of Indengo VII. Due to their rare genetic structure, Bahrassa have not been capable of mating with any other species to produce offspring.
Society and Culture
The Bahrassa have a tendency to be a conniving, backstabbing, and scheming sort of people. Their culture is driven by an idea of selfish materialism and self-centered-ness. In the eyes of a Bahrassa, the needs of the one always outweigh the needs of the many.
Most other species who have had dealings with a Bahrassa equate the experience to that of “dealing with a Rygelan, except that a Rygelan will just want your money. A Bahrassa wants everything… Maybe even your skin!”
The Bahrassa were discovered by Republic scouts around 827 BBY. While their society had not progressed much past an Information tech level, the Bahrassa quickly saw an opportunity to expand their society off of Baranza. The first contact initially went smoothly and the Republic explorers were assuming that they had found a potential new society on the edge of known space. That assessment, changed less than two days later.
The Bahrassa in contact with the Republic scouts quickly overpowered the team and sole all equipment and the scout ship. Within months, by forcing the scouts to cooperate under the threat of death, the Bahrassa had gained enough working knowledge of the equipment to not only begin making their own, but to steal the scout ship and ventured off their world for the first time.
Since then, the Bahrassa have gained ships capable of interstellar travel and frequent the Outer Rim territories.
